Day Two was just as crowded as Day One. Here are some of the MOCs at the San Diego LUG display. I take all kinds of pictures of cranes, since my is so wimpy and needs lots of help.
Here are some of the other MOCs from people attending Brick Fest Live.
I liked this one mostly because of the flat area on top. I am looking for ideas for the top of rock plateau. While what he has will not work for me, I find the texture to be very interesting.
These are generator towers. They were going to have a smoke generator for the one on the right. But instead of dry ice, it was an oil based generator, much like what is used in model trains. While it probably would not set off the sprinklers, they decided to err on the side of caution.
One idea I am thinking of implementing is a "excess material" area. This is the lower right hand corner of the display. This makes the entire display more realistic and not so "sterile".
The pictures above are for the Boy Scout camp and the Civil War scene. They were at Brick Fest Live last Nov 2021 also. There is just some amazing detail here.
They added a realistic animal park this time. Again the modeling is just amazing.
This display was at Brick Fest San Jose also. He has made some improvements to the stadium as it continues to grow.
All good things come to end. It took 90 minutes to disassemble the display and pack it up. Plus three trips to the car. But with extra helpers, I was able to continue to break down and pack while they moved the completed storage bins to the car.
Next is Brick Fest Live Sacramento on September 16 and 17.
